Let’s get one thing straight: if your business feels stuck, it’s probably not the economy. It’s not your team. And it’s definitely not a lack of opportunity.
Leadership sets the limit.
This quote by Dave Ramsey hits hard because it’s the truth so many avoid. We love to believe that “if we just had more time, more money, more talent…” everything would change. But here’s the reality: opportunity is always there—it’s leadership that decides whether or not it gets used.
There’s this mindset that successful companies are lucky. Right place, right time, right people. But the most consistent pattern I’ve seen across thriving businesses isn’t luck—it’s leadership that sets the limit and sees the opportunity and moves.
Meanwhile, other companies get stuck in the weeds. Not because opportunity didn’t knock, but because no one had the clarity, courage, or accountability to open the door.
Early in my leadership journey, I was the bottleneck in my own business. I wanted everything done to my standard, so I did everything myself.
Not only did that burn me out, but it also stunted the growth of my team. I wasn’t delegating, I wasn’t developing, and I definitely wasn’t leading in a way that allowed the business to scale. I was busy doing instead of building. And as a result, both the business and the people within it hit a ceiling.
That’s a hard truth to admit—but it was a turning point. I had to learn that great leadership isn’t about being the most capable person in the room. It’s about creating a room where everyone else gets more capable because of you.
Today, my leadership style is grounded in one belief: take care of your people, and they’ll take care of you.
I lead with transparency. I say what others won’t. I open doors and share the wealth—because when you empower people to rise, the whole company rises with them.
Too many leaders operate out of fear—afraid of being “one-upped,” so they surround themselves with people they can control. But that doesn’t inspire growth. That creates a stale, stagnant environment where no one is learning or leveling up.
Here’s the QueenPin truth: If you’re the smartest person in every room you sit in, you’re in the wrong rooms.
I intentionally surround myself with people who challenge me, teach me, and sharpen my thinking. That’s how I grow. That’s how the businesses I lead grow. And that’s the energy I bring to every client I work with.
You cannot expect your business to evolve if you’re staying the same.
We grow through:
Too many leaders stop investing in themselves once they hit a title. But the minute you stop growing, your business starts stalling.
It’s not about perfection—it’s about willingness. Willingness to be wrong, to get better, and to do the hard work behind real leadership.
If you feel stuck, here are the questions to ask—not to your team, but to yourself:
Growth begins when leaders start owning the real conversation. The one that starts with: What part of this am I responsible for?
Because your team can only rise as far as you’re willing to grow.
At QueenPin, we work with bold founders, franchisees, and executives who are ready to break through. We help identify where leadership is the limiting factor—and what to do about it.
